Mr. Richard "Dicky" Edwin Somers

Mr. Richard “Dicky” Edwin Somers, 69, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2011 at his residence.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 29 at Forbis & Dick, Pleasant Garden Chapel.

Mr. Somers was born in Rockingham County on September 17, 1942 to the late Wilbur and Lillian Somers.

He was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force and was employed as a sales associate with Baldor Electric Company.

Survivors include wife, Peggy Andrews Somers; son, Todd Somers (Jamie); sisters, Betty Jo Trayers, Mary Alice Settlemyre (Jerry), all of Greensboro; grandson, Jarret Alexander; several nieces and nephews, and his canine companion, “Jesse”.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28 at Forbis & Dick, Pleasant Garden Chapel.
