Shirley Overby Cook, 81, of Reidsville, NC, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Annie Penn Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00A.M., Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Warrick and Rev. Tommy Puryear officiating. Interment will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery.
Shirley was born in Pittsylvania County to the late Chesley Roling and Mary Walker Overby and was a retiree of The American Tobacco Company with 39 years of service. She was a member of Baptist Temple Church and along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Cook and brothers, Chesley Overby and Tim Overby.
Shirley always enjoyed decorating her home for all holidays and helping others when she could. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend and had a great love for animals and especially hummingbirds. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her sons, Dean Cook and wife, Debbie and Scott Cook and wife, Angela; grandchildren, Kaylah Cook, Steven Cook, Gabrielle Cook and Victoria Cook; brothers, Gene Overby and Larry Overby.
