BURLINGTON — Irene Pauline Tate , 85, of 422 Tate Street, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, February 25, 2006. She was the daughter of the late A. Doke Tate and the late Dora Gwyn Tate .
Irene was a native of Alamance County, and a graduate of Burlington Cosmetology. She received her plaque for 35 years service from Burlington Industries. Irene attended Wicker Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Rachel Tate Williams Hunter of Burlington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel, Burlington on Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. by the Rev. Tommy Love, pastor of Wicker Street Baptist Church and Dr. Eugene Hunsinger, pastor of Grove Park Baptist Church. Special music will be furnished by the Rev. Rodger Roach of Grove Park Baptist Church.
Interment will follow the service in Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington on Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service, and at other times they will be at the residence of her sister, Rachel Tate Williams Hunter, 411 Trail One, Burlington, N.C.
