Paul Emmett Hamlin, Jr. 84 of Foster Creek Road passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016. He was the last living child the late Emmett Paul Sr. and Lillian Shook Hamlin. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by an infant grandson Brandon Lee Ogle; sisters, Mary Ramsey, Ruby Ramsey, Kathleen Edwards and Villa Capps; brothers, Clarence, Lee, Kelse and Owen Hamlin. Mr. Hamlin was a US Army Veteran and a member of Fosters Creek Baptist Church..
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Phyllis Whitaker Hamlin; daughter, Paula Annette Ogle (Eddie); son, Roger Paul Hamlin (Shirley); special grandchildren, James Paul and Jessica Ann Hamlin, Trevor Emmett Ogle; special niece, Barbara Honeycutt; brothers-in-law, Worley Capps and Roy Ramsey.
The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00PM, Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held 7:00PM, Reverends Kermit Ball and Ken Parker will officiate. Burial will be held 11:00AM Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Laurelton Chapel Church Cemetery.
