Margaret Boone Howell, age 85, of Rebels Creek Road, Bakersville, North Carolina passed away May 23, 2016.
She was born at home in Mitchell County, Boonford, North Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. D. Howell on January 24, 2000 and a son Greg Howell in October, 1999.
She was also predeceased by her father John Nathan Boone and her mother Viola Conley McLucas Boone.
Margaret was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, making her famous fruit cakes for many of her family, friends and neighbors. When moving from Bakersville to Kingman in early 1950’s Margaret and her husband were instrumental in starting the First Southern Baptist Church in Kingman, AZ. She was very active in her church, in the Sunday School and other activities.
Survivors include her son Jeff and his wife Cris in Bakersville, N C.
Margaret was one of many children born and raised on Rebels Creek, Boonford, North Carolina. In her early years she was baptized in Rebels Creek and joined Rebels Creek Baptist Church.
Cremation was handled by Kirksey Funeral Home, Marion, N C and her ashes buried with her husband J D Howell in Rebels Creek Cemetery. 470, Margaret Boone Howell
