Estelle Alford Barnett, 98, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
She was retired from the bag sewing department at Dyersburg Fabrics, where she worked for 50 years, she was the oldest member of Hurricane Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she attended for 77 years, member of the Eastern Star-Dyersburg/Newbern Chapter 164 for over 50 years, avid gardener and she loved to fish.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Lynn Alford and the Rev. Donnie Ragsdale officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include her daughter, Anna Frances Myers and husband, Marshall, of Dyersburg; her brother, Ernest Alford of Dyersburg; a grandson, Gary Edward Fowler of Newbern; and two great-grandchildren, Ashley Fowler and Gary Edward Fowler II.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldred Edward Barnett; her parents, Robert and Sadie Blakeley Alford; and five brothers, Clarence, Stoy, Hubert, Ezell and Leroy Alford.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Anderson, Jeff Jones, Larry Skinner, Gary Fowler, Joe Cowell, Bob Alford, Terry Traylor and Eric Maupin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Elders of Hurricane Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Harold Joyce.
The family requests that memorials be directed to Hurricane Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Dyersburg/Dyer County Humane Society and to a charity of the donor's choice. 470, Estelle Alford Barnett
