DANVILLE, Va. - Ruth Boggs Quate, 89, of 2051 Woodlake Drive, died Sunday, March 26, 2000, at Danville Regional Medical Center

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2000, in Guilford Memorial Park, conducted by the Rev. Steve Smith.

Mrs. Quate was born Sept. 20, 1910, in Greensboro, the daughter of Kelly Boggs and Lura Hatch Boggs. She was married to Richard F. Quate, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Boggs Strader.

Mrs. Quate is survived by two nephews, Jack Strader of Danville, Jerry Strader of Wilkesboro; two nieces, Betty Jean McLean of Merced, Calif., Becky Carpenter of Charleston, S.C.; one god-child, Bruce Crawford of Richmond, Va.; five great-nephews; and four great-great-nephews.
