Rebecca "Becky" Irvin Quate was born on January 13th, 1948 in Greensboro, North Carolina to Irvin Paylor Quate and Charlotte Rebecca Morissett.

She graduated Smith High School in 1966, and then attended Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina.

She married Bobby Ray Carpenter in Charleston, South Carolina on June 5th, 1968.

They had two children, Bobby Jr. and Kimberly.

She passed away on June 22nd, 2003 after a battle with ovarian cancer. She was only 55 years old.

Becky worked at the VA in Charleston until her retirement, and she was always looking to help others in need. She was a devoted wife and mother, and loved to play bridge with friends, research her family's history, and spend time with her grandchildren. From family camping trips at Bethelwoods to skiing in Colorado, she also loved to travel and spend that time with her family. Becky was loved by all that knew her, and she is greatly missed.
