Obituary Online notes for Tracy Lee CLYMER
Tracy Lee Clymer, 39, departed this life on Monday, Dec. 1, 1997, after a 13-month brave battle with cancer.

A native of Wilmington, N.C., Tracy's lifelong commitment to help others was seen through a variety of rewarding projects, many of which he spearheaded. They include The Chesapeake Care Free Clinic, William Fuller/Tracy Clymer Celebrity Golf Classic, The American Cancer Society Relay for Life, Chesapeake General Foundation Golf Tournament, Darren Perry Intercept for Care, and the United Way Pacesetter Campaigns.

Tracy was a dedicated Pittsburgh Steelers fan and an avid North Carolina Tar Heels basketball enthusiast. He proudly served as manager of the NCAA National Champion ODU Lady Monarchs team in 1985. Tracy's most redeeming features were his empathy toward others and his outstanding sense of humor.

Tracy graduated in 1976 from Great Bridge High School and attended Old Dominion University. His home away from home was Chesapeake General Hospital where he served as printing manager and marketing representative at Comfort Care Home Health. He was a member of Thalia United Methodist Church.

Tracy is survived by his wife, Pamela Pascual Clymer; his parents, Gene and Harriet Clymer; his son, Micah Lee Clymer; his brother, Steven Scott Clymer; his sister, Teresa Clymer Dudley; and many friends and relatives.

A funeral service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Friday in Thalia United Methodist Church by the Rev. Marc Brown. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

Tracy asks that others continue his community spirit by making donations to any of his favorite charities: Chesapeake Care Free Clinic, 1001 N. Sparrow Road, Chesapeake, Va. 23325; Chesapeake General Hospital Cancer Treatment Center, 736 N. Battlefield Blvd., Chesapeake, Va. 23320; or the American Cancer Society, Portsmouth-Chesapeake Unit, 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk, Va. 23513.

The love and prayers of those who cared for Tracy have helped make his journey to a better life a peaceful one.
