She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Samuel Wayne Childrey; father, Philmon Horace Underwood; mother, Francis Moore Underwood; brothers, Walter Wesley Underwood, Philmon Horace Underwood Jr., and sister, Catherine Underwood.

She was survived by her brother Christopher 'Robbie' Underwood (of Tennessee) and a sister, Michelle Sundeen (of the home). Several nieces and nephews also survive.

She retired as a supervisor at Creighton Shirt Makers in Reidsville.

She enjoyed spending time with and taking care of her family and did so as much as possible. She was treasured by all that knew her. She went home to be with the lord peacefully. Now she is dancing with the love of her life, Wayne, on that golden dance floor.
