Donald Ray Cook, 62, of Harrison Crossroad Loop died Monday January 29, 2007 at Penn Nursing Center.
A native of Rockingham Co., he was a son of the late Elijah and Lucille Childrey Cook and had lived in Reidsville most of his life.
He was a retired employee of the American Tobacco Co. with 27 years of service and he owned and operated Expert Tree Work for over 40 years. Donnie attended Calvary's Hill Baptist Church and was a former Oregon Hill Volunteer Fireman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Floyd Cook.
Surviving is his loving wife of 40 years, Dixie Ellison Cook of the home; two sons, Donald Ray Cook Jr. and his wife, Stacey of Reidsville and Dean Cook and his wife: Ellie of Ruffin; daughter, Diane Cook and Chris Carter of Reidsville; brothers: Claude Cook and his wife, Donna of Wentworth and Spencer D. Cook of Myrtle Beach, SC; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cecil and Hazel Ellison of Reidsville; grandchildren, Samantha D. Cook, Drew Cook, Grey Cook and Keion Carter.
