Obituary Online notes for Elwood Bernie PRYOR
REIDSVILLE - Elwood Bernie Pryor, 68, of 172 Washburn Lake Rd. Reidsville, N.C. went to be with the Lord Monday, Aug. 4, 2008 at Annie Penn Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at Penn Memorial Baptist Church. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens.

A native of Rockingham County, he was a son of the late John Allen and Etta Clymer Pryor and had lived his entire life in Rockingham County. A retired employee of Hall Tire and Battery in Greensboro, N.C., he was a faithful member of Penn Memorial Baptist Church where he served as an usher, and was a member of the Dan Overby Sunday School Class. Elwood was always available when needed, and was a good friend and neighbor to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by a son: Gregory Lee Pryor, three brothers: Dewey Pryor, Paul Pryor and John Allen Pryor Jr., and a sister, Louise Pryor Brame.

Surviving is his wife of 39 years, Pauline Robertson Pryor of the home; two sons, Donald Earl Hanks and wife Patricia of Reidsville, N.C. and Michael Dean, Hanks of Tennessee; daughter, Wanda Lewis of Reidsville, N.C.; brother: Sam Childrey and wife Mildred of Reidsville, N.C.; two sisters, Clarice P. Roach of Reidsville, N.C. and Marie P. Lewis of Reidsville, N.C.; two grandchildren, Donald Earl "D.J." Hanks, Jr. and wife Heather of Greensboro, N.C. and Ashley Renee Hanks of Tennessee; great-grandchild, Cheyenne Hanks.
