Vera Dean McDonald, 88, passed away April 20, 2018, at St. Luke's Nursing Home in Carthage, Mo.
Vera was born Aug. 8, 1929, in Blue Springs, Mo., to James Spencer and Ardice Mava "White" Melton.
She was a longtime resident of Carthage and a member of Fairview Christian Church. She enjoyed needlework and spending time with friends (Nellie Holzwarth) and family.
Vera was united in marriage to Fred McDonald on Jan. 1, 1948, in Bentonville, Ark. He preceded her in death May 11, 1995.
Vera is survived by three sons, Jim McDonald (Sue), of Kansas City, Mo., Ron McDonald (Becky), of Tulsa, Okla., and Gary McDonald (Ticia), of Carthage; one daughter, Dianna Danner, of Carthage; seven grandchildren, Eric McDonald, Adam McDonald, Julie McDonald, Kristopher McDonald, Ashley Danner, Rachel Danner, and Aaron McDonald; and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, at Park Cemetery in Carthage. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 23, at Ulmer Funeral Home.
Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
