Obituary Online notes for Herbert Henry SCHNEIDER
GORMAN -- Herbert Henry Schneider, 87, died Tuesday, February 20, 2007 in Comanche, Texas.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cisco with Pastor Matthew Brackman officiating. Interment will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Restland Cemetery in Iraan, Texas.
He was born February 10, 1920 in Shackelford County near Albany, Texas. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cisco. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U. S. Army in the 275th Engineering Battalion and participated in the Normandy Invasion, the Battle of France and the Battle of the Bulge.
He married Thelma Lee Eversole on March 15, 1946, and she predeceased him in June 1989. Herbert was a drilling contractor in Iraan, Texas, and retired in the Gorman area. On October 5, 1990 he married Lula Cooper Vermillion in Cisco, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Lula Schneider of Gorman; one daughter, Barbara Schneider of Nashville, Tennessee; one son, Marvis Schneider of Midland; two brothers, Ernest Schneider of Rockdale and Lawrence Schneider of Iraan; two sisters, Mildred McClish of Azle and Loretta Fuller of Florida and two granddaughters, Rachel and Sara Schneider.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cisco.
