Obituary Online notes for Donald Duane KOEHN
LINDSBORG -- Donald D. Koehn, 67, formerly of McPherson and customer serviceman of McPherson Board of Public Utilities, died Sunday at Lindsborg Community Hospital.
He was born Oct. 10, 1931, in rural Halstead to Fred and Susie (Jantzen) Koehn. He married Shirley M. Mathes June 10, 1956, in McPherson. She survives of the home.
He was a former Moundridge resident moving to McPherson in 1956. He was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, American Legion Post No. 24 and VFW Post No. 2715, all of McPherson.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1954, during the Korean War.
Other survivors include: three sons, Brian Koehn of Hesston, Tim Koehn of rural Galva and Brent Koehn of McPherson; one brother, Roy Koehn of Newton; two sisters, Erma Unruh of Galva and Elda Jantz of Newton; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Elvina Ediger, Laura Becker and Lydia Decker.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Congregational United Church of Christ in McPherson with the Rev. Robert Park officiating. Burial will be in the McPherson Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Stockham Family Funeral Home in McPherson.
Memorials have been established with Bethany Home in Lindsborg in care of the funeral home.
