James Mark Garrison
July 8, 1933 — July 1, 2025
Burlington, NC

     Mr. James Mark Garrison, age 91, of Burlington, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several months of failing health.

     A native of Alamance County he was the son of the late James Vincent Garrison and the late Rebecca Elizabeth Storey Garrison and was married for 65 years to Mrs. Peggy Joyce Ramey Garrison, who passed in 2022.

James graduated in 1951, which was the last graduating class of Burlington High School and then received a Bachelor’s Degree from Elon College.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Burlington Industries with over 30 years of service.

James was a former member of the Burlington Recreation Commission and coached youth basketball and softball and was a member of Front Street United Methodist Church.

     Mr. Garrison is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth G. “Beth” Gardner (Daniel); three grandchildren, Michael Ryan Brown (Annie Bennett), Robert Allen Brown (Jessica) and Abbie Garrison Helikson (Matt); and a sister, Eveline G. Bartel (Larry).

     A private service will be held at a later date.
