Dr. Phillip Maurice Scotton, 67, of Bear Creek, died Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at his residence.

Graveside Services, Sunday, June 14, 2020, at Maple Springs United Methodist Church, Ramseur.

Officiating, Rev. Sam Harris, Mr. Thomas Coward.

Phillip was a lifelong resident of Randolph County. He was a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and the owner of Eastern Randolph Veterinary Clinic. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Lee Holder Scotton, brothers, Thomas Scotton, John Scotton and nieces, Leah Scotton and Clara Scotton.

Survivors: wife, Judy Scotton, of the residence, daughters, Dr. Michelle Scotton Franklin, and husband, Jeff, of Ramseur, Dr. Dawn Scotton Caviness, and husband, Michael of Kannapolis, son, William Scotton, of Greensboro, sisters, Dr. Mary Lynn Scotton Piven, and husband, Joe, of Pittsboro, Sarah Scotton Ellington, and husband, Tim, of Staley, brothers, Michael Scotton, and wife, Jan, of Charlotte, Greg Scotton, of Randleman, Jim Scotton, and wife, Kim, of Climax, Dr. David Scotton, and wife, Laurie, of Julian, Paul Scotton, and wife, Joanne, of Randleman, grandchildren, Adia Caviness, and Aiden Caviness, both of Ramseur, Cole Caviness, and Cadence Caviness, both of Kannapolis.

Doctor Scotton will lie in state on Saturday, June 13th from 11 AM until 5 PM.
