LEXINGTON - Mr. Glen Ray "Fergie" Ferguson, 73, a resident of 11954 E. Old Highway 64, died Monday evening, April 7, 2008, at Lexington Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 2, 1934, in Randolph County to Theodore Glen Ferguson and Mae Ila Holder Ferguson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers. He retired from Henredon Furniture and was of the Baptist faith. He was a US Marine Corps veteran and a member of the American Legion.
Surviving are his fiancée, Bobbie Causey Hill of the home; daughters, Susan F. Parnell of Archdale and Kathy F. Hinkle of High Point; son, Wayne Ferguson of High Point; two step-daughters, Pamela Hill of Franklinville and Sherry Hill of Lexington; step-son, Freddy "Tork" Hill of Lexington; brothers, Jim Ferguson and his wife Marcia and Alan Ferguson, all of High Point, and Barney Ferguson and his wife Christine of Trinity; sisters, Helen Widener and her husband Jimmy of High Point and Linda Scearce and her husband Donald of Trinity; grandson, Kenneth Hinkle; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Salisbury National Cemetery with Pastor Billy Yates officiating. The family will be at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville on Thursday from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. and at other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The American Legion Post 8; P.O.
