Nancy Whitaker Baker, 86, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at her home.
She was born on June 11, 1934 in Alamance County to the late Condy Whitaker and Gladys Truitt Whitaker Wicker, and was the wife of 60 years to the late Warren Lee Baker who died in 2009.
Nancy retired as the Director of Alamance Beauty College; she was a Licensed Cosmetologist and Instructor. Nancy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be dearly missed. She was a member of Shallow Ford Christian Church.
She is survived by her son, Timothy “Tim” Baker and wife, Kathryn; granddaughter, Amanda Baker; sister, Joyce Thomas; brothers, Homer Whitaker, John Coy Whitaker and wife, June; several nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers, Earl, Ted, CW, and Lawrence Whitaker as well as a sister, Florine McKinney.
The funeral service will be held 2:00pm Thursday, July 13, 2020 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by her son, Tim Baker, with the burial to follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
Nancy will be available for viewing on Wednesday from 1pm to 5pm and on Thursday from 8am to 1:45pm.
