Margaret Holland Carden Obituary

Margaret Holland Carden, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 28, 2025. Margaret is preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Garfield Carden. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Reuben and Fannie Holland. She was one of thirteen children.

Margaret is survived by her three children Vickie Grubb (Doug), Kenny Carden (Nancy), both of Burlington, and Lisa Wright (Greg) of Cedar Grove. She is also survived by her youngest brother, Richard Holland (Patricia) of Graham.

She was the proud and loving “Mawmaw” of three granddaughters: Jessica Anderson (Jason) of Burlington, Allison Mooney (Travis), and Melanie Allen (Dillon), both of Cedar Grove.

Although she loved her granddaughters very much, her great-grandchildren were the light of her life. Great-Granddaughters: Kinsley Carden and Laci Fisher; and Great-Grandsons: Mac, Drake, and Dayton Allen.

Visitation will be at Eastlawn Baptist Church, Tuesday, September 2nd from 10:30am-11:45am with the service following at 12pm. The graveside service will be held at Alamance Memorial Park at 1pm. She and Garfield were active members of Eastlawn Baptist Church for over 50 years.

Friends and family will gather at the home of Jessica Anderson, Margaret's eldest granddaughter over the weekend between the hours of 12n and 4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Eastlawn Baptist Church or AuthoraCare of Burlington.
