Graham

Ethan Coy Massey, 31, was rejoicing in the day the Lord had made on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, playing in a golf tournament when he had a change of scenery after his awesome drive on hole 14. God transferred his last earthly breath into his first heavenly breath, greeted by Jesus, his Savior. Born in Alamance County on March 1, 1994, to Michael C. Massey and Felicia Fogleman Massey and was the beloved husband of Abby-Kaye Foster Massey for 3 wonderful years; he brought nothing but joy to their lives.

Ethan graduated from Elon University in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in business management. He then established his professional career as an employee at Almac where he planned to continue to grow his career.
Outside of his professional career, Ethan could be found spending time with his family and friends participating in his favorite outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, playing golf, trail riding in West Virginia, going to the lake, and spending time with his dogs.

Ethan was a faithful servant at First Baptist Church of Haw River.
Now, and for eternity, Ethan’s faith has become sight as described in 1 Peter 1:3-9. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, 5 who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 8 Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, 9 obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”

He is survived by his beloved wife, Abby Massey; parents, Mike and Felicia Massey; sister, Amber Laparra and brother-in-law, Paul; nephews, Elias, Isaiah, Malakai and Evander Laparra; paternal grandfather, Frank Massey (Mary Frances); mother-in-law, Sonja Ross (Jeff); father-in-law, John Foster (Karen); sister-in-law, Bayleigh Starnes and brother-in-law, Trevor; and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Linda Harder Massey and maternal grandparents, Odis P. Fogleman and Gloria M. Fogleman.

A service to celebrate Ethan’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Haw River by Rev. Jonathan Jenkins and Rev. Justin Stevers with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive family and friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Monday, September 15, 2025 at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and at other times at Ethan and Abby’s home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Love Life at www.lovelife.org in honor of Ethan’s love for children and God’s design for family.

Please wear clothing to honor Ethan’s favorite color or sports teams: purple, the Cowboys, and the Carolina Tarheels. 256, Ethan Coy Massey
