Obituary Online notes for Billie Carleen SMITH
Carleen was born October 31, 1947 in Huntington the daughter of Bill and Winnie Smith. She was a nurse for 47 years. In Addition to her normal nursing responsibilities, Carleen worked with migrant workers while in Indiana. She was honored to go on a medical Mission to Honduras more recently. She moved from Indiana to Lynn Haven in 1987 with her husband and children. She retired from Panama City Surgery Center in 2010. Carleen enjoyed creating with stained glass, giving her angels and other pieces of her artwork to many friends. She also enjoyed annual "beach bash" reunions with her family. Carleen was an active member of Lynn Haven United Methodist Church, participating in various activities.

Carleen, a loving wife, is survived by her husband Greg Hinkle, her son Jonathan McKee of Panama City and his wife Roni Ann, grandsons David and Jarred, her daughter Kristina Zimmerman of Huntertown, Indiana and her husband Brian, granddaughter Katie Ann, grandsons Jake and Josh.

Carleen is also survived by her mother Winnie Smith of Huntington and four sisters – Mrs. Stephen (Susie) Higgs of Huntington, Mrs. Larry (Sherry) Zook of Huntington, Mrs. Jim (Connie) Martin of Evansville and Mrs. Gene (Donna) Little of Hueytown, Alabama.

Also, special friends Nel and Dwight Rogers, Paula Kem, Gary and Marrabeth Nichols, Dianne and Tom Reidy, the Friends Small Church Group of Lynn Haven United Methodist Church, and all her loving coworkers at Panama City Surgery Center.

Carleen and Greg will be eternally grateful to her sister Donna, Donna's husband Gene and Donna's family – Julie and Kevin, Zach and Crystal, Brooke, Britanny, Bailey, Zach Jr., Nathan and Melissa, and David for the love and compassion – sharing their lives with Carleen and Greg during their stays in Birmingham.
