Charles Carr, 82, of Sun City, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006, at LifeCare Center of Hilton Head after an extended illness.

He was born March 8, 1923, in Weirton, W.V., son of the late Charles and Florence Baehler Carr.

He attended Duke University and served in the US Navy during World War II. He owned and operated a photo studio for 16 years and then worked for 3M for 23 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Weirton Masonic Lodge in Weirton, W.V., and he was a Shriner.

He was married for 37 years to Claire Entzminger Carr. Following her death, he was married for 21 years to Bonnalyn Hock Stewart Carr.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnalyn;
Sons: Jim and Robyn Carr of Henderson, Nev., and John and Jean Carr of Topsfield, Mass.
Daughter: Judy and Jim Galloway of Kennesaw, Ga
Stepdaughters: Jonette and George Futch of Chapel Hill, N.C. Jonlyn and John McCuan of Pinson, Ala., and Joanne Hock of Charlotte, N.C.
11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a sister, Joanne Gorrell of Weirton, W.V.

A private service will be held later in Spartanburg.
