Obituary Online notes for Ruby WRAY
Ruby Wray Phelps, 89,of Durham passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Brodie Wray and Lillian Wright Wray.
Ruby worked for Sperry Rand and was a hospital volunteer for 10 years at Duke Regional Hospital. Ruby was a member of Durham Memorial Baptist Church where she sang in the Church Choir, and was a member of the Faith Sunday School Class. She was a great cook and loved crafts.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Lea Phelps.
She is survived by her son, Bob Phelps and wife Pat of Raleigh; daughter, Brenda Phelps and husband Ron Jones of Pinehurst, NC; brother, Paul Wray and wife Lula of Reidsville, NC; grandchildren, Brian Phelps and wife Kaitlan, Lee Phelps and wife Courtney and Matthew Phelps; great-grandchildren, Paxton, Sadie and Lyla Phelps.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 17 at 1:00 p.m. at Durham Memorial Baptist Church. Reverend Ed Denton and Dr. Gerald Goodwin will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
