Barbara Ann Ferrell Cox, 81, of Burlington, passed away at her residence on Friday, December 5, 2025 surrounded by her family. A native of Alamance County, she was born on March 22, 1944 to Robert Ferrell and Jane Moize Ferrell, both deceased.
She will be fondly missed by all who knew her, especially her daughter, Robyn Cox; her grandchildren, Trenton and Autumn Shields and one great granddaughter, Raelynn Shields. She is also survived by one sister, Becky Swearingen.
Other than her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Alan Cox and two sons, Billy and Patrick Cox.
The family will greet friends and family for a time of visitation on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at Rich and Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington from 6:00 - 8:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials made in her honor be made to Hospice of Alamance County or the Burlington Fire Department Firefighter Fund, where her grandson Trenton works.
