Burlington - James Yancy Ingle, 87, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at his daughter, Sandra's home surrounded by his family. He was born on January 1, 1929 in Alamance County to the late Marion Ingle and Elsie Capps, and was married to the late Mary Steele Ingle who died in 1997.

James enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Wyatt Davis, Sandra and Glenn Denham; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Esther Ingle; grandchildren, Leon Smith, Bryan Denham, Nicholas Ingle, Kelly Uhl and Adam Ingle; six great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Kathy Flake Ingle; sisters and brother-in-law, Pauline Baldwin, Vallie Mae Smith, Laverne and Robert Johnson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Haywood and Evelyn Ingle, William "Willie" and Barbara Ingle, and Talmadge Ingle; several nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his wife; parents; a son, Terry Lynn Ingle; sister, Eva Ingle McGuire and a brother, Howard Ingle.

The funeral service will be held 2:00pm Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Tony Thomas with burial to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm to 1:45pm prior to the service and other times the family will be at the daughter, Sandra Denham's home.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the Hospice nurses and staff for their compassion and loving care that was shown to their father during his illness.
