Obituary Online notes for “Mack” Alexander McLeod EDGERTON
Mr. Alexander McLeod “Mack” Edgerton, 86, passed peacefully from this earth into the presence of his Heavenly Father on Friday, December 5, 2014 at the Hospice Home. He was born in Sanford, NC to the late Rev. Luther Talmage and Pauline Carter Edgerton. Mack was the husband to Coleen Cates Edgerton for 62 years.
He graduated from Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC and taught science in Forsyth County and Guilford County schools and retired from teaching at Eastern Alamance High School.
He also served in the U. S. Navy for four years.
Mack was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include four children, Kenneth A. Edgerton (Ardis), Jan E. Bomberger (Paul), Charles T. Edgerton (Sandy) and Ann E. Barker (Ted). He also had ten grandchildren, Rebecca B. Sigmon (Daniel), Steve Edgerton, Michael Bomberger, Brian Edgerton (Blakeley), Lauren E. Mullenix (Brian), Brent Edgerton, Caleb Barker, Philip Barker, Leanne Barker and Lindsey Barker; and three great-grandchildren, Jackson Edgerton, Avery Edgerton and Charlotte Sigmon. He was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Edgerton and one sister, Catherine Wilson.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. by Mr. Ken Harman and Mr. Larry Batts. The burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Saturday, December 6, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. and other times at the residence.
