Sarah Elizabeth Parker, 37, peacefully left her earthly home for her heavenly home on December 27, 2025. She was born on March 17, 1988, to Walter Dave Parker and Patrice Durham Parker of the Anderson community.
Sarah was preceded in death by her twin sister Mary Catherine in 1988 and her father Walter in 2004. She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Gerald “Jerry” Durham and Irene Carden, and her Paternal Grandparents Dave and Kathleen Parker. Also, her special caregiver of ten plus years, Joyce Stephens, who adored Sarah.
Sarah is survived by her mother Patrice Durham Parker of the home, her siblings Parrish Parker and wife Karen of Mebane, NC, Casey Parker Moore and husband Mark of Anderson, NC, Adam Blake Parker and wife Courtney of Yanceyville, NC, and Shavonne Parker Oliver and husband Zachary of Greensboro, NC.
Her memory lives with her nieces and nephews, Gabriel Parker, Mara Parker, Ella Moore, Charlotte Moore, Silas Moore, Parker Moore, Addy Parker, Josie Parker, and Walter Parker.
She is also survived by her Mamaw, Nancy Durham and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Sarah faced many challenges from birth due to health conditions. Although she was never able to speak with words, she communicated in ways that were deeper and more meaningful than speech. She loved to laugh, swim in the pool, watch Disney movies (Beauty and the Beast was her favorite), and listen to music. Sarah also loved to be read to, vacations to Florida and most of all adored loud family get togethers. Laughing babies made her smile, but crying babies made her laugh uncontrollably. Sarah taught us all, that the people whose abilities do not match our own always bring joy and love unconditionally. She taught us to care for and love everyone in need, regardless of the situation. Sarah graduated from Bartlett Yancey High School in 2010.
Her life and home were blessed with compassion, dedication, and loving care from the countless caregivers who cared for Sarah along with her family for the entirety of her life. Your willingness to give of yourselves to Sarah allowed her to spend every moment at home with her family. A special thanks to Kita, Gail, and Sharmaine, the wonderful team of ladies who cared for Sarah daily. We want to give our deepest appreciation for all of your kindness, love, and the care that made Sarah’s days happy, comfortable, and full of joy.
The services for Sarah will be held at Baynes Baptist Church, 1757 Baynes Rd, Burlington, NC 27217 on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 2:00 pm with the family receiving friends from 12:45 pm until 1:45 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Baynes Baptist Church, 1757 Baynes Rd. Burlington, NC 27217.
