Louise Clayton Oakley, 73, of Aubrey Clayton Rd., Hurdle Mills, died Sunday, April 6, 2014. Born in Person County, Mrs. Oakley was the daughter of the late Aubrey and Emma Sue Ball Clayton.
Mrs. Oakley worked with the before and after school program at Oak Lane Elementary School and was a member of Old Lea Bethel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Marion Clayton
Mrs. Oakley is survived by her husband of 46 years, Haywood "Red" Oakley of the home; three daughters, Jane Whitt and husband Mike, Kirstan Rose and husband Philip and Wendy Oakley, all of Hurdle Mills; one brother, Yancey Clayton, Jr. and wife Alma, of Hurdle Mills; five grandchildren, Michael Whitt, Jr., and wife Brandi, Tabitha Hayes and husband Chad, Blake Whitt, Nicholas Rose and Jacob Rose; four great-grandchildren, Abigail Hayes, Isabella "Izzy" Hayes, Brookley Hayes and Kamden Whitt.
Funeral services will be held 2PM, Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Old Lea Bethel Baptist Church by the Rev. Alan Bottoms, the Pastor Mike Whitt, and the Rev. Gene Clayton. Burial will be in the Clayton Family Cemetery on Newton Pleasant Loop Rd., Hurdle Mills.
