Clyde Eugene Murray passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, at Alamance Memorial Hospital, following several months of declining health. He was born on May 8, 1940, in Guilford County to the late Walter “Doc” Marion Murray and Ruby Alcon Murray.
Clyde retired as a mechanical contractor after many years with Tri-City Mechanical . Known for his strong work ethic, Clyde approached everything he did with commitment and care, always looking after his family and friends. His 53 years of faithful service at Northeast Volunteer Fire Department proved invaluable to many who served with him. One of his favorite past times was hunting and fishing with family and friends.
Clyde is survived by his devoted wife, Carolyn Sue Hawkins Murray of the home; a son Cale E. Murray of Brown Summit; a sister, Judy Wyrick of Gibsonville; a brother Jerry Murray of Snow Camp; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by his brother Clay Murray and three sisters: Betty Justice, Louise Howerton and Dorothy Howerton
A visitation to honor his life will be held at Lowe Funeral Home from 1:00 till 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 31, 2026.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Northeast Fire Department, 7806 Jackson School Rd., Brown
