Robert Pontius, 60, Greentown, died Thursday, July 6, 1978, at his residence. He had been ill for two years. He was the brother of the late Bud Pontius, Peru.
Born January 25, 1917, he was the son of John and Eva M. Goss Pontius. He married Mary Helen on June 9, 1946. He was retired from the Chrysler Corporation, Kokomo and a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are wife Mary Helen; four sons, Jeffery, Danny, Jerry, and Micheal; three daughters, Jane, Marsha, and Susan; and 9 grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p .m. Sunday at the Pickett Funeral Home, Greentown. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today. 470, Robert Elmer Pontius
