Joanne Dorothy Dierking, 86, of Monett went to be with her Lord in Heaven on Thursday August 9, 2018 while at Quail Creek Nursing in Springfield, Missouri.
She was born on February 1, 1932 in Omaha, Nebraska; the daughter of the late Pastor Adolf Bernhart Johana and Dora (Duis) Lentz. She was united in marriage on May 16, 1958 in Scibner, Nebraska to Eldon Dierking; he preceded her in death on October 15, 2009.
She was a secretary in the Physics Department at the University of Nebraska, a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Monett, and was very active in the church and with the L.W.M.L.
Joanne is survived by her daughter Rebecca Duncan and her husband Stanley of Nixa, Missouri, and one granddaughter Jessica.
She was preceded in death by her parents Pastor Lentz and Dora; her husband Eldon and two sisters: Anna Mae and Marie.
Visitation for Joanne is being held on Sunday August 12, 2018 from 4:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Chapel in Monett, Missouri. Funeral services are being held on Tuesday August 14, 2018 at 11:00a.m. at the St John's Lutheran Church in Lanham, Kansas. Burial will follow the services around 2:00p.m. at the Lincoln Memorial Cemetery in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Memorial donations for Joanne may be made to the St. John's Lutheran Churches in Monett, Missouri and Lanham, Kansas.
