Mary Jane Brooks, 87, Glendale, AZ died Wednesday, August 26, 2015 in The Gardens of Sun City, Sun City, AZ. She was born August 29, 1927 in Albion, IN to Charles O. & Gladys E. (Frasier) Bowman.
On August 29, 1947 she married R. Ned Brooks. He died December 8, 2013.
She was a homemaker and member of United Methodist Church, North Manchester, IN. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge #1518 and American Legion Auxiliary both of North Manchester, IN.
She will be missed by her family & friends. She is survived by two sons, John (Audrey) Brooks, Golden, CO and David Brooks, Glendale, AZ; one daughter, Nedra (David) Simmler, Glendale, AZ; two sisters Janice Gable, Warsaw, IN and Barbara Grossnickle, Virginia and five grandchildren. One sister, Beverly Jefferson, is deceased.
Family and friends may call Tuesday, September 1, 2015 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Pastor J. P. Freeman will officiate. R. Ned Brooks, 86, formerly of North Manchester, died on Dec. 8 at 7:20 PM at Hospice of the Valley, Glendale, AZ. He was born on March 5, 1927 to Raymond and Beatrice (Churchill) Brooks in North Manchester.
He graduated from Central High School in North Manchester in 1945. He was a member of the American Legion Post #286, a member and past Governor of Moose Lodge #1518, both at North Manchester and the Eagles Lodge. He worked as a Personal Lines Manager for Travelers Insurance Company in South Bend and Chicago from 1952-1985. He married Mary Jane Bowman on Aug. 29, 1947.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, John (Audrey) Brooks and David Brooks; a daughter, Nedra (David) Simmler; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Funeral services were held Dec. 14 at McKee Mortuary with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. [55932]
