RUTH E. PONTIUS, 84, died Wednes-day, Sept. 19, 2007, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Born in Kendall-ville, she was a home maker and was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She loved the organ her husband bought for her.
Survivors include her husband, John Pontius of Fort Wayne; daughters, Carol Swartz of Fort Wayne, Barbara (Don) Perl of Highland, Mich. and Sandra Rose of Fort Wayne; stepdaughter, Pamela Pontius of Boone, Iowa; stepsons, John R. Pontius II of Lawrenceburg, Ga. and David Pontius of Tucson, Ariz.; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brother, Cyrus R. Helmer; stepdaughter, Julie A. Acord; and a grandson, Chad Perl.
Service is 2 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church, 300 W. Wayne St., with calling one hour prior. Jeanie Barnes officiating.
Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. 470, Ruth E Helmer Pontius
