Mary Elizabeth Williams BURLINGTON — Mary Elizabeth Williams, age 65, passed away on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family and friends. She was a native of Alamance County and the daughter of the late Edward Jerome and Elvie Tate Williams.
Elizabeth retired as an English teacher with the Alamance-Burlington School System. She was a member of the Common Woman Chorus in Durham. Elizabeth loved academics, devoting her life to teaching and was a loving and loyal daughter, sister and friend.
She is survived by her sister, Rebecca Williams King of Burlington; nephews and spouses, Jonathan and Ashley King, of South Carolina, and Jason and Amy King, of South Carolina; greatnieces and nephews, Alex King, Elizabeth Tate King, Grayson King, Olivia King, Jordan Vaden and spouses, Chris, Zack King, Nick King and Noah King; great-greatnephew, Conell Vaden; her spirited cat, “Stella;” and special friends,
Lynn and Ja Antequera, Joan McAllister, Janie MacNella,
Mike Young, Melva Foster and others too numerous to mention.
A celebration of Elizabeth’s life will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home and other times at the home of her sister, Rebecca King.
