CHAPEL HILL — Mrs. Margaret F. Tate, 86, of Chapel Hill
Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Chapel Hill, formerly of Alamance
Plaza, Burlington, died at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at UNC
Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of Andy Ervin
Tate and Ethel Irene McIntyre Tate, both deceased. She was a retired
sales clerk and a member of the First Baptist Church of Burlington.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Agnes Phillippie of Liberty; and a
brother, Mr. Ervin Tate of Greensboro.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Rita Alderman and
Mrs. Louise Norman; and three brothers, Mr. Thomas Tate, Mr.
Maurice Tate and Mr. Carl Tate.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rich & Thompson
Chapel in Burlington by Dr. Craig McMahan. Burial will be in Bethlehem
Christian Church cemetery.
The family will be the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6
