Marvin James Laughlin
   BURLINGTON — Mr. Marvin James Laughlin, 95, of 409 Whitsett Street, Gibsonville died at the Hospice Home in Burlington on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 9:00 p.m.

   A native of Randolph County, he was the husband of the late Mozelle Tate Laughlin, and the son of Jim Laughlin and Mulee Coble Laughlin, both deceased. He worked at Cone Mills for 26 years, Laughlin’s Florist for 39 years, and was also Post Office operator. Marvin was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Gibsonville. He was a member of the Lions Club for over 30 years, formerly served as treasurer of the City Cemetery Committee in Gibsonville, and a member of The Senior Citizens.

   He is survived by a son Larry Allen Laughlin and wife Emma Jean of Gibsonville; eight grandchildren; thirteen great–grandchildren; and a sister Helen Laughlin. He was preceded in death by two brothers Forest Laughlin and Hal Laughlin.

   The funeral service will be conducted at The First Baptist Church of Gibsonville

   on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. by Rev. Julian Griffin and Rev. Shane Nixon. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.

   The family will receive friends at The First Baptist Church of Gibsonville on Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence.

   Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of The First Baptist Church of Gibsonville, 221 Piedmont Avenue, Gibsonville, NC 27249 and Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
