Funeral services for Wayne Koonce, 77, of Gore Springs, were today at Garner-Harper Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial followed in the Gore Springs Cemetery.
Visitation was today at the funeral home.
Mr. Koonce died May 24, 2008, at his home.
He was born September 14, 1930, to Wayne H. Sr. and Lucille Miers Koonce in Grenada County.
Mr. Koonce was a retired truck driver, a member of Providence Baptist Church, the Grenada Lake Camping Club, and was a Korean Conflict Veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Trussell Koonce; a son, Wayne H. Koonce III of Calif.; four daughters, Velma K. Wagoner (Norman) of Burlington, N.C., Mary K. Sturzenbecker (Jim) of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Peggy K. Hopkins (Kenny) of Efland, N.C., and Lou Ann K. Wagoner (Darin) of Efland, N.C.; three step-daughters, Sue T. Fly (Fletcher) of Coffeeville, Sallie T. Carpenter (James Henry) of Grenada, and Sherri T. Riddick (Hank) of Inverness; one sister, Lou Lesley-Cummins of Monroeville, Ala.; 18 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren.
Garner Harper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
