Obituary Online notes for Loren Everett MUSGRAVE
Loren Everett Musgrave, 91, of Matthews, N.C., passed away March 6, 2021, at Matthews Medical Center. He was born Feb. 25, 1930, in Forest, Ohio, son of the late Floyd L. and Doris M. Young Musgrave.

Loren was a 1948 graduate of Stivers High School in Dayton, Ohio, and attended college at the University of Dayton before enlisting in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired insurance executive with more than 30 years of service with Buckeye Union and Continental Insurance Companies.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Judith Coppock Musgrave; his children Paul David Musgrave (Barbara Gulling) of Waxhaw, N.C., Doug Stethem (Coleen Seagren) of Indiana, Pennsylvania, Loree Pittenger (Lance) of Matthews, N.C., and Jennifer Frederick (Warren) of Home, Pennsylvania; and his sister Suzanne Musgrave Welsh of Dayton, Ohio. He was the proud grandfather of nine grandchildren: Derek, Meghan, Brett, Ellen, Brice, Jacob, Kyle, Haylee, and Marysa; and prouder more of them producing 11 amazing great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by twin infant sons, David and Thomas.

Over the years, Loren and his wife lived in Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and North Carolina. Loren was a member of Grace Community United Methodist Church in Fort Mill, S.C., and 32nd degree Mason and a 70-year member of Masonic Lodge 779 in Dayton, Ohio.

Loren enjoyed tracing the family’s roots through his love of genealogy, traveling the United States on road trips, and adored the company of his three dogs – Maggie, Barney, and Skruffy. He was known for his quick-wit, affection for gin and tonic, and butterscotch cookies. But – most of all – he loved the family created with his loving wife.
