David A. Barnes, 60, of Columbus, Ohio, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, at his home.

Born Feb. 27, 1948, in Richmond, Ind., he was the son of James and Eleanor Barnes. He was a 1966 graduate of Jackson High School in Preble County. Mr. Barnes worked at McLean Trucking Company for 10 years as a dispatcher and then for National Retail Systems for the last 21 years. He was a member of the Franklin Bridge Club for many years and a member of Grace Lutheran Church. He was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Janice Clark; her children, Mike (Kathy) Clark, Susan (Robin) Gulcher and Stacey Clark, all of Columbus, Scott (Cheri) Clark of Gresham, Ore., and Julia Hoffman of Rockford, Ill.; grandchildren, Michael Hoffman of Des Plaines, Ill., and Griffin Gulcher of Columbus; brothers, Roger (Gerry) of Shreveport, La., Tom (Patty) of Eaton, Ohio, and John (Janice) of New Paris, Ohio; and sister, Jane (Richard) Coggin of Eldorado, Ohio; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were Saturday, Nov. 15, at Grace Lutheran Church, Eaton, with the Rev. Warren Reichert officiating. Private family interment followed at Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton.
