Obituary Online notes for Frances A. (Spouse 1)
Frances A. Moots, daughter of John and Catherine Brown was born near Millersburg, Ind., Jan. 4, 1863. She departed this life June 19, 1905, aged 42 yr. 5 mo. and. 15da.

She grew up in the community in which she was born. She was united in marriage with Jacob L. Moots, Feb. 28, 1886. To this union were born three children two daughters and one son. She united with the M. E. Church in Lewisburg about fourteen years ago. She was converted Feb. 5, 1894 between the hours 8 and 9 o'clock. Her experience was evidently very clear, seeing, that she recorded with such definiteness the day and hour of her conversion. Her pastor always found her in a state of readiness to depart and be with Christ.

During the early months of her sickness she was reluctant to leave her family; but for the last few months has been perfectly resigned to live or die as it pleased the Lord.

She remained conscious until a few minutes before her decease.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, two daughters, one son, two brothers and many other relatives and friends.

She rests in peace.

The following poem is a beautiful tribute to her moral excellence by her husband.

There's a place of regal beauty
Where the sunbeams never die,
Where the roses mount the trellis
Of the pillars to the sky.
There flow crystal streams and fountains
Where the whitest lilies grow.
Tis my home—my sacred temple -
On this common earth below.
This vain world may laud its Ophir
With its diadems of gold,
Yet the glory of my dwelling
Human tongue hath never told.
Its foundations speak of Love,
While its walls are all aglow,
With that Peace which crowns the lilies
Where perennial waters flow.
A fair spirit dwells within it
With a chaplet on her brow;
She uplifts a golden scepter
As before her will I bow.
Her dear lips have touched the lilies
And her cheeks have caught the glow
Of the roses on the trellis
Where the softest zephyrs blow
When my soul is torn and bleeding
With the fierceness of life's fray,
And I turn my weary footsteps
To my sacred shrine to pray:
There my gracious queen awaits me
With her heart and soul aglow,
Bearing lilies wet with tear drops
From the crystal fountain's flow.
