Obituary Online notes for Mary Lois STIVER
Mary L. Hypes, age 90, of Lewisburg, OH, died Wednesday, April 15, 2015 in Dayton, OH. Born on July 25, 1924 in Lewisburg, OH, she was the daughter of the late Owen H. & Hattie J. (Pence) Stiver. Mary retired in 1987 after 38 ½ years as a school teacher. Mary taught Middle School and High School and had taught two years in Camden, 6 years in Verona and 30 years at Twin Valley South. She was a 1942 Monroe High School graduate and a 1945 graduate of Capital University. Member of Grace Lutheran Church in Eaton, Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, Preble County Retired Teachers Association and WOEA. Mary taught Sunday school for over 50 years and served on many committees. Preceded in death by her husband of 62 years: Ward L. Hypes in 2008; brother: Hugh F. Stiver in 2010.

Survived by her children & spouses, David Hypes of Falmouth, Michigan, Tom & Julia Hypes of Lewisburg, Ohio, Dean & Kris Townsend of Thornville, Ohio; three step grandchildren, eight step great grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, April 20, 2015 at Grace Lutheran Church, 111 Lutheran Drive, Eaton, OH with Rev. Warren Reichert officiating. Interment will be held in Sugar Grove Cemetery, West Alexandria, OH. Family will receive friends on Sunday, April 19, 2015 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main St., Eaton, OH.
