Active member for 41 years at St. James the Less Catholic Church.
Retired after 39 years with Denison Hydraulics.
Member International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.
Preceded in death by his sister Margaret Anne Neal.
Survived by wife, Roseann Powell Neal; children, Philip A. (Jeri) Neal Jr. of Naplesville, Ill., Jean E. (Daniel) Cores of Pickerington, Barbara E. Neal of Alexandria, Va., Thomas C. (Mary Beth) Neal of Marietta, Ga., Robert D. (Julie) Neal of Chillicothe, Oh.; grandchildren, Shannon, Stephanie and Philip A. Born March 9, 1928 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of the late Llewellyn O. and Rosella Cowan Powell.
Graduate of Holy Rosary High School in 1946. St. James the Less School's Librarian from 1966-1991.
Built the school's first library beginning in the cafeteria's coat closet into a full multimedia center common in many schools today. The library has been dedicated in her name since 1989. She participated in the education of hundreds, perhaps thousands, of St. James graduates.
Preceded in death by husband Philip A. Neal and daughter Barbara E. Neal.
Survived by daughter, Jean E. Cores and husband, Dan, Pickerington, Ohio; three sons, Philip A. Neal Jr. and wife, Joan, Kansas City, Kansas, Thomas C. Neal and wife, Marybeth, Marietta, Georgia, and Robert D. Neal, Chillicothe, Ohio; grandchildren include, Shannon Neal, Stephanie Neal, Philip Neal III, Robin Cores, Chris Cores, Ryan Cores, and Michael Neal.
Also survived by brother, William O. Powell and wife, Dorothy; brother-in-law, Joseph E. Neal and wife, Marie.
