HIGGINS, David R, 88 of Morrow, died Monday, November 5, 2018.
Born to Riley and Mary (nee: May) Higgins on January 28, 1930 in Chattanooga, TN.
David attended the University of City and retired from General Electric after more than 20 years of service.
He was a United States Air Force veteran. He enlisted in the service in September of 1948, at the age of 18. David went to USAF Tech School, Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi and went through 28 weeks of training to be an aircraft engine mechanic. He served in the Korean War and received the Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal for Korea.
David was active with the Lebanon YMCA, the Lebanon Garden Club and was a manager for 5 years at the Frisch?s in Lebanon.
Preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Norene (nee: Givens) Higgins, one son, George Barry Higgins, five brothers, Howard, Russell, Charles, Paul and George Higgins and one sister, Eva Louise Patterson.
David is survived by his loving wife, Caroline (nee: Ayal) Higgins of Morrow, two sons, David Thomas (Marivic) Higgins and Jeffrey Glenn Higgins, one daughter, Teresa Gail Higgins, five grandchildren, three great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 9 th from 10:00AM-11:00AM with a service at 11:00AM all at Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home, Lebanon. Interment in Morrow Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of Cincinnati. Online condolences sent to www.hoskinsfh.com. [58292]
