Burlington – Jennie Pauline Alcon Cobb, 89, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at her home. She was born in Rockingham County on November 6, 1931 to the late Carl Nathaniel and Nellie Malinda Scott Alcon.
Pauline was a longtime member and deacon of Stony Creek Presbyterian Church. She served over 40 years at Monarch Hosiery where she would retire and maintain longtime, lasting friendships. She enjoyed Hallmark movies, reading, gardening and outings with siblings, coworkers and her church family. Pauline was a loving and devoted single mother who dedicated her life to her family and has a great love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons, Randall Cobb (Libby), Doug Cobb (Tammy); daughter, Cindy Moore (Eddie); grandchildren, Scott Moore (PaNhia), Taylor Moore (Kyle), Steven Cobb, Erin Blair (Shannon); great grandchildren, Aiden Moore, Zaiden Blair; brother, Billy Alcon (Lois); sisters, Nina Anderson, Carolyn Gilliam and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Leonard Alcon.
A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00pm on Monday, May 10, 2021 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Tim Robinson with the burial to follow at Stony Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 prior to the service at the funeral home.
