Dallas Malone Anderson Jr.
 
 BURLINGTON — Dallas Malone Anderson Jr. died Wednesday, June 19, 2013 after a 10-year battle with COPD. He was born Feb. 14, 1935, and was a lifelong resident of Alamance County.
 
 Malone was the son of Dallas and Marion Walker Anderson and Edith Anderson, all deceased.
 
 He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nina Alcon Anderson; sisters, Lib (Donald) Smith, Ida Em Anderson and Sarah Jane (Ron) Wrightenberry, all of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews.
 
 He graduated from Pleasant Grove School, served in the U.S. Army but had to return home to farm with his father. He worked at Sandy Cross Service Station and Melville Chevrolet and retired after 34 years at Craftique Furniture.
 
 The funeral service will be conducted at Cross Roads Presbyterian Church in Mebane, where he was a member, Friday, June 21, 2013, at noon by the Rev. Matt Randolph and the Rev. Tempe Fussell. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
 
 The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 Thursday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the residence.
 
The family requests that Malone’s classmates at Pleasant Grove School serve as honorary pallbearers.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215, or to Cross Roads Presbyterian Church, 3302 NC 119 North, Mebane,
 
NC 27302. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Hospice Center for their support and especially to Robin, Dale and Michelle for their special care given to Mr. Anderson during his illness.
