Mrs. Gertrude  Rumley Greeson


    BURLINGTON — Mrs. Gertrude  Rumley Greeson, 83, of 2345 Burch Bridge Road, Burlington died at the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell on Monday, Sept. 4, 2006, at 8:15 a.m.
    A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Henry A. Rumley and William Kelly Greeson and the daughter of John Long Paschal  and Annie Lee Barnett Paschal , both deceased.
    She was a member of Zion Christian Church.
    Survivors include one daughter, Ms. Rebecca I. Rumley of Burlington; one son, Mr. Douglas Rumley and wife, Becky of Graham; two grandsons, Mr. Andy Rumley and Mr. Tommy Rumley and wife, Andrea; one great-granddaughter, Miss Sierra Elizabeth Rumley; one brother, Mr. John Long Paschal , Jr. of Walkertown; one step-daughter, Mrs. Lynda Clark and husband, Jerry of Burlington; two step-sons, Mr. Alvis Greeson and wife, Ann of Liberty and Mr. Stanley Greeson and wife, Judy of Burlington; and one Godchild, Mrs. Jeannie Childress Phillippe of Mebane.
    She was preceded in death by two sisters, Miss Cleo Catherine Paschal  and Mrs. Margaret Cheek and one brother, Mr. Thomas Paschal .
    The funeral will be conducted at Zion Christian Church on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. George M. "Jack" Phillips. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The body will be taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
    The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Graham on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence of Douglas and Becky Rumley, 101 Forest Drive, Graham, N.C.
    Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
