Mr. Max Dean Andrews 


    GRAHAM — Mr. Max Dean Andrews , 72, of 317 Moser Street, Graham, died suddenly at his beach home at Emerald Isle on Monday, October 16, 2006.

    A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Jean Welch Andrews , who survives, and the son of Walter T. Andrews  and Onie Thompson Andrews , both deceased.

He was a retired brick mason.

He was a member of Eastlawn Baptist Church, a deacon, an active member in mission work at the church and community, and a volunteer for Hospice.

    In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Denise Andrews  Long of Graham; a son, Mr. Duane "Shakey" Andrews  and Ashley of Graham; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Verline Handy of Burlington and Mrs. Pat Rhodes of Madison; three brothers, Mr. Boyd Andrews  of Franklin, Mr. Jimbo Andrews  of Carolina Beach, and Mr. Bill Andrews  of Elon; and four grandchildren, Justin, Aaron, and Mackenzie Long and Hunter Andrews .

    He was preceded in death by one brother, Willard Andrews.

    The funeral will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Friday, October 20, 2006 at 11 a.m. by Dr. Terry Pritchard and the Rev. Walter Jones.

Burial will follow the service in Graham Memorial Park.

    The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Graham from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times they will be at the residence.

    Memorials may be made to Eastlawn Baptist Church, 432 North Sellars Mill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27217 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance/Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
