Dorothy Jones Hayden
BURLINGTON — Dorothy Jones Hayden, 95, passed away Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at the Coble Healthcare Center of Twin Lakes.
Born in Alamance County on May 11, 1915, she was the daughter of the late John Richard and Lela Oakes Jones. She was a member of Berea Christian Church and the retired owner and operator of Vogue Beauty Shop in Graham.
She was also predeceased by her husband, William T. Hayden Sr.; her sisters, Lucille J. Reid and Mary B. Jones; and brothers, John C. Jones, William L. Jones and Jerry E. Jones.
She is survived by a daughter, Ellen Annette Hayden, of Burlington; a son, William T. Hayden Jr. and wife, Becky, of Greensboro; a sister, Nina J. Utsey, of Wilmington; three grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, from noon to 1:30 p.m. Burial services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Berea Christian Church, C/O Tommy Thomasson at 3860 Stoney Creek Church Road, Elon, NC 27244.
