GIBSONVILLE — Gladys Claudia Apple, 73, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, at Wesley Long Hospital. She was a native of Guilford County and the daughter of Ronnie and Claudia Gerringer Apple.
Gladys was employed for many years with Burlington Industries and she retired from Avery-Denison in Greensboro. She was a member of Johnson Baptist Church. Gladys enjoyed cooking for people in her community and church and gardening. She was devoted to her son, family and her church.
She is survived by her son, Todd Lee Apple of the home; brothers, Reid Apple (Polly), Dewey Apple (Geneva) and Jerry Apple (LaVerne), all of Gibsonville, Delano Apple (Jackie) and Buddy Apple (Joan), both of McLeansville and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Hobert V. Apple, Clifton Apple and Houston Gerringer; and a sister, Carnell Randleman.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday,
Feb. 5, 2015, at 11 a.m.at Lakeview Memorial Park Mausoleum by the Rev. Larry Andrews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at her home.
